Caffeine Comparisons

Caffeine Pouches vs Caffeine Pills: Dose, Cost and Convenience

If price is your main concern, the caffeine tablets in our comparison cost less per unit. A pouch offers a different kind of convenience: no pill to swallow, no drink to prepare, and a flavor you can choose.

You might prefer a tablet you take and forget about, or a flavored pouch you keep in your mouth and remove afterward. Before choosing, it helps to put the prices and caffeine amounts side by side.

Start with the price

Here are three options, using the listed prices we checked on September 29, 2026:

Product Pack size Item price Price per tablet or pouch
Prolab Caffeine 200mg, 100-tablet option 100 tablets $9.98 About $0.10
Kryze, one can 15 pouches $5.99 About $0.40
Kryze, seven-can pack 105 pouches $34.99 About $0.33

Sources: Prolab's product page and Kryze's pack options. These are one-time item prices before shipping, tax or extra discounts. The products contain different caffeine amounts, so one tablet and one pouch aren't equivalent servings.

The Prolab example is cheaper per unit. Choosing a pouch means paying for a format you may prefer, along with its flavor and formula. Buying more cans lowers Kryze's price per pouch, but it doesn't make it the cheapest option in this comparison.

Check delivery charges, too. Prolab calculates shipping at checkout; a single Kryze can also has shipping added. The seven-can Kryze offer is explained below. Divide the final order total by the pack count to compare what each unit costs to get to your door.

The difference you will notice each time

A standard caffeine tablet or capsule is swallowed according to its label, commonly with water. Once you've taken it, there's no pouch to remove or flavor to keep in your mouth. If that simplicity appeals to you, a pill is worth considering.

With Kryze, you place a pouch in your mouth and remove it after use. The suggested use time is about 30 minutes; you can take it out sooner, and should do so if uncomfortable. Don't chew, open or swallow the pouch. Our use guide covers the details.

A pouch can be convenient at a desk when you don't want to prepare another drink. It also gives you a mint or fruit-and-mint flavor. That matters if you enjoy it. If you'd rather have nothing in your mouth, it may be a reason to choose the tablet instead.

Check the caffeine amount before switching

Kryze contains 50mg caffeine per pouch. The Prolab product above lists 200mg per serving. Other pills and pouches can have different amounts, so check the product you are actually buying.

Switching formats doesn't necessarily mean keeping your caffeine intake the same. Don't split tablets or combine pouches just to recreate the amount in this example; follow each product's directions.

Include coffee, tea and other caffeine sources in your total. The FDA notes that sensitivity varies, and caffeine can affect sleep or cause unwanted effects. Our 50mg guide explains Kryze's amount in more detail.

What else is in a Kryze pouch

Kryze's caffeine comes from guarana extract. Each pouch also contains 40mg each of Alpha-GPC, L-Tyrosine and L-Theanine, plus 20mg CoQ10. It is sugar-free, nicotine-free and tobacco-free.

You can see the complete amounts, sweeteners and flavor ingredients in our ingredient guide. A longer formula doesn't automatically mean a better result; it gives you more ingredients to consider alongside the caffeine.

When the seven-can pack makes sense

Once you know which flavor you like, the seven-can pack brings the item price to about $0.33 per pouch. It contains 105 pouches, all in one chosen flavor, for $34.99. Fresh Mint, Citrus Mint and Green Apple Mint have the same active formula.

During the current promotion, eligible seven-can orders receive free standard shipping in the contiguous United States and Washington, D.C., for standard rates below $11. Eligibility after discounts is confirmed at checkout. See the current offer and pack options before ordering.

One can is a smaller commitment if you're still choosing a flavor. The seven-can pack gives a lower price per pouch when you already know what you want.

A few questions before you choose

Do caffeine pouches work faster than pills?

We haven't established that for Kryze in a direct comparison with caffeine pills. Choose it for the amount, flavor and way you use it, rather than an expected speed advantage.

Are all caffeine pills 200mg?

No. That's the amount in the Prolab example here. Check both the caffeine amount and serving size on any other product you consider.

Is the guarana extra caffeine on top of the 50mg?

No. Kryze's 228mg of guarana extract supplies the labeled 50mg caffeine. You count 50mg of caffeine per pouch, not 228mg plus 50mg.
